Lincoln County Clerk Rhonda Burrows reminded those wishing to vote in the primary election Tuesday, June 7th, that registration books close on May 10.
Absentee
voting begins May 10 at Burrows' office in the county courthouse in
Carrizozo. The office is open from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
Absentee forms may be picked up at her office or requested by calling
1-800-687-2705, ext. 6. Only voters who are members of one of the two major political parties are eligible to vote in the primary.
Early
voting will run from May 23 through June 3 at the county courthouse,
300 Central Avenue. The office is open from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through
Friday and from 10 am to 6 pm Saturday, June 4th. It will be closed Monday, May 30th, for Memorial Day.
Early voting also will occur from Saturday, May 21st, through Saturday, June 4th, at the Horton Complex, 237 Service Road, Ruidoso, ad from 10 am to 6 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
Six polling places in the county will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day. They are the
· county courthouse in Carrizozo;
· Corona Village Hall, 461 Main Street;
· Capitan High School, 150 Forest Street;
· Ruidoso Convention Center, 111 Sierra Blanca Drive;
· Ruidoso Downs Senior Center, U.S. 70; and
· Hondo High School 111 Don Pablo Lane.
