You don't know what water is worth till the well runs dry
Wells stop pumping the first week of March in Enchanted Forest subdivision off Hwy 48 in Alto. It has 119 homes with meters. One well started sucking mud and burned out the pump. The second well needs to be deepened to reach water. They are currently having to buy water from Jack Johnson to fill their tank. AltoCEP has asked their lawyer to help this subdivision by requesting emergency aid from the state. This is very relevant in that our aquifer in the Upper Hondo Watershed is fragile and limited in water. The current water situation cannot handle water pumped in the future AT ALL at the proposed Roper Concrete Batch.
